Brighton Marathon Runner for ADHD Aware

This year is the first time we have a runner in the Brighton Marathon on behalf of ADHD Aware (and the Brighton Support Group). Cal Chester from a local community development charity, TDC, has kindly risen to the challenge. This is a fantastic opportunity for us to raise awareness and reach more people with ADHD.

There are 2 ways in which you can support us:

1. Sponsor Cal to run.

The more money we raise the more this will spur Cal on through the gruelling (and often windy) 26 miles. Over the years the Brighton ADHD Support group meetings have been a safe space for hundreds of local people and helped countless numbers get diagnosed. Many of these people may of have had no place else to turn to and some travel a great distance to come to our meetings. We are 100% volunteer led and any size donations we receive will be a great support to the work we do and help us reach more people

We use our funding for:

  • Support group meeting room hire (each drop-in meeting costs over £90)
  • Volunteer expenses (bus travel, parking, moral boosting cups of tea)
  • Texting reminders costs over £20 a month
  • Facilitator costs (£90 per meeting)
  • Promotional materials

You can donate and support Cal, by going to our Golden Giving page. Any size donation is welcome 🙂

2. Help Raise Awareness about ADHD and cheer Cal on the day

Let’s show our local community that ADHD is not just real, ADHD is loud!  On the day of the marathon, Sunday 15th of April, there will be health charities across the board at the marathon. Wouldn’t it be great if ADHD was represented too? This is a great opportunity for us to help raise awareness about ADHD in the local Brighton community. Please come and show your support on the day and help us cheer Cal on.

We will be cheering Cal on between 11 am – 2pm on the day, Sunday 15th April. We will start meeting at 11am at Hove Library 182-186 Church Rd, Hove, BN3 2EG. To keep track of where we move to, please keep checking our Facebook event page.

We are also producing a limited number of branded ‘ADHD Aware’ T-shirts which can be purchased to show your support on the day, and be treasured thereafter! Please fill out this form if you would like a t-shirt.
