Why go to an ADHD support group?

Adult ADHD Support Group based in Brighton, UK

Living with ADHD affects every aspect of life and can often feel isolating. Joining a support group allows you to share coping strategies and connect with others facing similar challenges, providing support and motivation. It's an opportunity to make new friends, exchange information, discuss diagnoses, access services, and enjoy yourself!

What to Expect at Meetings

Most groups are relaxed social gatherings with around 10 to 20 attendees from diverse backgrounds. Group Discussions are more structured, focusing on specific topics with a facilitator. Upon arrival, you'll be warmly greeted by organisers. You can participate as much or as little as you like. We understand the initial apprehension of attending, and we strive to create a welcoming environment. If you have any concerns, please contact us — we're here to assist. All meetings are confidential, non-judgmental, and cover sensitive issues. No appointment is necessary; feel free to drop in anytime.

What You'll Gain

At our meetings, you'll receive informal advice from peers on various topics, including:

Additionally, our groups offer valuable support on broader issues such as legal matters, benefits, addiction, parenting, education, relationships, and mental health. Beyond practical advice, attending a support group provides a sense of solidarity and the reassurance that "you're not alone." This validation can be transformative, especially after years of hearing "just pull yourself together." Adults with ADHD bring diverse experiences, ensuring engaging and inspiring discussions.
